Panoptes (1994)
Overview:
An experimental short commissioned by the Sculptors' Society of Ireland. Shot on location in Belfast in 1993 and subsequently screened at the 1994 Edinburgh Film Festival. The work, derived in part from Jeremy Bentham's ideas for prison designs (Panopticon) attempted to portray the psychological effects produced by daily life within a heavily-surveilled environment.
