battlenet - behind the screens ()

Overview:
Inside a Battlenet gaming station, three computers from different generations, a Boomer, a Millennial and a Gen Z, have very different ideas about what it means to be a gamer. As they trade jokes, memories and the occasional generational insult, they retrace the story of Battlenet, from four PCs squeezed into a small café in Naousa in 1996 to esports arenas, online tournaments and a gaming community reaching far beyond Greece. Through financial crisis, lockdowns and relentless technological change, the machines, the games and the spaces around them keep evolving. But something remains surprisingly constant: people coming together to play. Told as an animated workplace mockumentary, Battlenet: Behind the Screens is a playful journey through nearly three decades of Greek gaming culture, told by the computers that watched it happen.
